Who we are

I’ve heard it said that mankind is at its best when things are at their worst, that may be true, but we, as an individuals are only as strong as the armor we wear and the shield we stand behind when the tempest strikes.
If the metal that was used to forge our soul is one mined from inferior ore, then the armor and shield of our humanity are as weak as the people who helped forged us.
But, given enough time in the forges of life, it is possible to turn pig iron into steel.
I believe that is where true character comes from.
Like the Phoenix, it is possible to rise out of the flames and ashes and begin anew.
